    Engaging The 1619 Project

    Engaging The 1619 Project

Real Clear Public Affairs has started a webpage cataloging article that debunk the 1619 Project.

    Introduction:
Last summer, the New York Times Magazinelaunched The 1619 Project on the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans to Jamestown. Its stated goal was “to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative.” Rather than standing with the American Revolution’s radical promise that we are all created equal and possess the same “unalienable rights,” or Abraham Lincoln’s description of America’s as mankind’s “last best hope,” the revisionist view of The 1619 project argues that America was founded upon slavery and that the effects of white supremacy distort every aspect of American public life today.

Prominent historians, educators, and writers have challenged these claims. Noted scholars such as Gordon Wood, Wilfred M. McClay, Sean Wilentz, James McPherson, and James Oakes have publicly questioned its main contentions. And the 1776 Project, a group of black scholars and writers led by entrepreneur and civil rights leader Bob Woodson, has produced essays, and eventually a curriculum, that will “challenge those who assert America is forever defined by its past failures, such as slavery.”

This isn’t merely an academic debate

Peter what are you thinking? Don't you know that these super PC ideas can't hold up to investigation, empirical evidence, self research , logic, reason or fact.? Thet's why they want to erase history next will be all research not done by them.

While we're at it, Martin Bernal's Black Athena should be taken out to the alley and burned. It started the fire in blacks and black academia in this country, and it is a lie.

One has to seriously live in deep lalaland to think that racism hasn't managed the mind of America for a long time. You must be completely unaware of our history for instance. You know like how LBJ's civil rights act turned the south red. Amazing that rights are bad things if they are about all people.

Real clear is just another brain washing site for the easily influenced and the mostly uneducated. 'Our tribe is good, your tribe bad' could be the slogan for these sites. There is rarely any deep historical analysis but rather interpretative finger pointing. It is an enormous apologetic rewriting of reality along with a white washing of the real world. It works for many as it fits into their assumptions and learned beliefs. It falls short for those who think for themselves.

    'Dear Friend, I am black.''

"I am sure you did not realize this when you made/laughed at/agreed with that racist remark. In the past, I have attempted to alert white people to my racial identity in advance. Unfortunately, this Invariably causes them to react to me as pushy, manipulative, or socially inappropriate, Therefore, my policy is to assume that white people do not make these remarks, even when they believe there are no black people present, and to distribute this card when they do.

I regret any discomfort my presence is causing you, just as I am sure you regret the discomfort your racism is causing me."

Often comics tell it like it is for they must check sources and be aware of content as the critics have a field day with misinformation and if your word isn't trustworthy you are probably a writer on Real Clear. lol

    Racism exists. Live with it.

Institutional racism and the made up systemic racism theory is gone in the US. Actual scientific studies based off deductive reasoning prove this. The inductive reasoning based studies used to "prove" institutional racism are not proof. They are the opposite of the scientific method.

Sometimes I wonder who he's even addressing.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

He has no clue what The 1619 Project is, especially if he offers a comic's view of the Confederacy.
