Anti-choice folks apparently won't be won't be happy until all abortions are literally "back room" procedures - in other words, unlawful. In the name of promoting medical safety, politicians pandering to a constituency that apparently wants government to be small enough to peek into a woman's uterus are doing nothing but setting the scene for a serious increase in the rate of complications and deaths related to abortion.

I get that but they are not a large % of the population. Neither are the partial birth advocates.
I'm in the limited to 12-20 week range for free choice.

Abortions should be in a safe environment and provided by a capable doctor that works with a hospital.
Abortions are in back rooms now and that is what this bill would have helped to eliminate. Although I agree that in this case their motivation certainly appears to be beyond that.

By getting another true Conservative on the court to neuter his position.
It is a political grey area as to if the chief justice can be demoted to Associate justice.

I think there were other details to the law and ended up making it hard for many women to even get an abortion. But I haven't read the case or the TX case, and don't plan to.

They had to have admitting privileges so they would have to have doctors with admitting privileges to local hospitals. It was health safety legislation.

State legislators who waste the taxpayers' money on passing laws they absolutely know are going to be struck down by the courts, in order to pander to the anti-choice contingent, should be hounded out of office.

Personally, I am pro-life, so I guess that makes me somewhat anti-abortion. That being said, I also believe there's free choice.
My only issue is who pays for it? If it is taxpayer funded, it should only be paid for in cases of crime, rape or incest for example, by the state. All other abortions should be paid for by the individual, totally.
