I didn't need to be. You didn't see any Jefferson Davis and you didn't see segregation.

Yes, I do. It's called knowledge. Knowing that the US military was desegregated almost before you were born and segregation made illegal everywhere 7 years prior to your enlistment it's safe to assume you were mistaken.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Interesting you mention the Knights of Columbus.

I wonder how long until the name of that fraternity is changed.
Really, the communist he was arresting, were they all Jewish.

Sometimes I have to remember you're the guy who was shocked by segregation in 1971 long after it had actually ended.
We had lots of de facto segregation in 1971.I know, as I had 12 apartment managers I had to deal with when in the pool biz. Some were blatantly racist.
One Cracker ran a complex in Santa Clara, CA and had all blacks living there. He evicted them all, then the Mexicans moved in, He evicted all of them! I knew a few who openly said they didn't rent to blacks. I reported them to the General manager. Nothing happened!
