Yes Dr. Who. Something that made navigating the Good Hope Cape seem child's play.

Why don't you just tell me?

Constantinople had fallen, Who. And the Byzantine Empire with it. And the Middle Ages as well. Many eastern scholars fled west into Greece and especially Italy aiding the beginning of the Renaissance and Navigators such as Columbus and Cabot. Navigating the Cape of Good Hope would have then crossed paths with the Ottomans who....would not have tolerated a Spanish Exploration, would have enslaved or killed Catholic Columbus. As they did so many others. For it was the way of the entire world at the time, wasn't it.

Maybe not. Trade was valuable to them. Just ask Marco Polo. He traveled through the early Ottoman Empire.

No it was not Juneteenth is a celebration of when Gen Gordon Granger announced the Emancipation Proclamation to the slaves of Texas June 19th 1865, before the 13th was ratified. Slavery did not end that day, not even in Texas
