The first cases of COVID 19 in the US and in South Korea were reported on the same day. 155,000 Americans have now died from the virus. 301 South Koreans have died. The problem isn’t the virus. It’s the totally incoherent and negligent response to the virus by the US government.

In fairness, the SK's don't have the same government or rights that we have.

But just as South Korea appeared to be descending into catastrophe, the
country stopped the virus in its tracks. The government demanded that
the Shincheonji Church turn over its full membership list, through which
the Ministry of Health identified thousands of worshippers. All were
ordered to self-isolate. Within days, thousands of people in Daegu were
tested for the virus. Individuals with the most serious cases were sent
to hospitals, while those with milder cases checked into isolation units
at converted corporate training facilities. The government used a
combination of interviews and cellphone surveillance to track down the
recent contacts of new patients and ordered those contacts to
self-isolate as well.

No, I wish that they had done something, instead of lying and twiddling their thumbs for a month while other governments were actively implementing plans to combat this virus. When this is all said and done, the Trump administration’s mishandling of this crisis will almost certainly go down in history as one of the most significant and consequential acts of malfeasance by any presidential administration in US history. I understand that you and most posters here are completely in the bag for this $#@!pile of a president, but you screwed up by electing this clown and we’re all paying the price.

First of all, they didn't "twiddle their thumbs" - we've seen the results of the massive movement of the federal bureaucracy that took place and the herculean public / private effort that has taken place - with great results given our governmental system. I get "orange man bad" but the left's constant derision of this President's effort in our political system (while far from perfect) is totally dishonest. All of this has been posted and non-refuted many times.

Secondly, you haven't been here very long but if you had been you wouldn't have said "I understand that you and most posters here are completely in the bag for this $#@!pile of a president..." I have and will criticize him when warranted. There is a lot to criticize him for. At least most of us on the right are willing to acknowledge his faults and criticize him when criticism is due unlike the left's nose up Obama's pelosi:

Viruses don’t recognize state lines. The CDC exists for a reason. Relying on 50 separate state responses to get a pandemic under control was a huge mistake.

And, keep in mind that during this time you had Trump repeatedly downplaying and lying about the scope and threat of the virus (and many Republican governors following his lead). At the same time that South Korea was undertaking their aggressive contact tracing efforts, you had Trump spewing bull$#@! like "And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done." This bloodbath rests squarely on Trump’s puny boulders.
