    Kudos to Governor Kemp.
"Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) on Monday authorized deploying the state's National Guard after a weekend of violence in Atlanta that included the fatal shooting of an 8-year-old girl."Kemp declared a state of emergency in Georgia by signing an executive order to allow as many as 1,000 National Guard troops to deploy to Atlanta. The governor said the declaration came after “weeks of dramatically increased violent crime and property destruction” and gunfire over the Fourth of July weekend, leading to five confirmed deaths."

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms tests positive for coronavirus....

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is the latest high-profile politician to announce a positive test for the coronavirus.

Bottoms tweeted on Monday that she was informed of her positive test but is currently feeling no symptoms of the disease.

"COVID-19 has literally hit home," she wrote. "I have had NO symptoms and have tested positive."

COVID-19 has literally hit home. I have had NO symptoms and have tested positive.

The state of Georgia had reported a total of 97,064 coronavirus cases and 2,878 deaths as of 3 p.m. on Monday. Bottoms joins United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul as one of the most well-known politicians to contract the virus since the global outbreak began in January.....snip~
