He did no such thing, actually he sounded like a moron. Using the word "douche-canoe" makes you look like an immature millennial tool.

Serving in the military doesn't mean you don't hate America (look at Timothy McVeigh). Especially when you're mostly just fighting for Israel these days.

(Maybe her losing her legs is why she hates America)

George Washington was one of the great military leaders not just of the US but in world history. One would hope she would have a great deal more respect for him. Don't you think? I'm with Hoosier on this. Her war wounds do not make her a statesperson or give her keen judgement.

While Tucker has a first amendment right to express his viewpoint and I'm now expressing my rights by saying he has no class for challenging her patriotism.

I think he does. Just because she was shot up in combat does not make her especially wise or a leader.

Tucker Carlson has a great deal of class. A war wound does not a Vice President make.

That begs the question; Why are our boys and girls fighting and dying for IZRAHELL?

Ask Tammy Duckworth. She might have an opinion about that.

Well, the issue in my opinion is not that. It's how you criticize. I don't think she is above any criticism (nobody should be), but I would certainly not say that she is a *coward* and that she *hates* the country.

I mean, the woman made a point of learning how to fly helicopters so that she would be able to be in combat, because being a helicopter pilot is a way for a woman to be in a combat mission. Then she lost both legs in combat. And she did all that in all likelihood, I'd assume, for the sake of loving the country. Her entire ancestry from the paternal side is made of military men, all the way back to the American Revolutionary War.

Carlson wants to say that what she is saying is not smart, be my guest. But don't call her a coward and don't say she hates the country.

By the way, Carlson distorted what she said. She never said *she* wanted to bring down Washington's statue or even condoned it. She merely said that people who want to bring it down should be *heard*. That's very different from saying the statue should come down, so Carlson put words in her mouth.

You can hear someone, try to understand why the person is upset, offer alternative solutions... Especially if you are, mind you, a Senator who represents the people. Shouldn't a Senator hear the people? It doesn't mean you'll agree with doing what the person is asking for. So I don't see how "these people must be heard" = "I hate the country."

I'm not inside Senator Duckworth's head so I can't say if she hates the country or not. I see no evidence that she does, just because she said she would like to hear what these people have to say (which is kind of her job). So if you want to convince me that she hates the country, you'll have to produce better evidence. So, what is it? What has she done that hints at her hatred of the United States? I'm relatively familiar with the Senator but not entirely, so maybe you'll teach me something and I'll say, "OK, then, you have a point, maybe she does hate the country." But Carlson's justification for issuing this accusation? I don't buy it.

And as far as cowardice goes, I'm quite sure that Tammy Duckworth is way more courageous than Tucker Carlson. She's got no fewer than 10 medals and military awards, dammit! What has Tucker Carlson done to prove his courage?

And as far her as being dumb, I find it hard to believe, too. The woman is a George Washington University alumna and she holds a Master's Degree and a PhD. We're not talking about AOC, the bartender.

    ------------

My reaction to Omar's comments was much harsher. I said, if she is not satisfied with the US institutions, economy, and politics, she should feel free to move to Venezuela, Bolivia, Angola... or back to Somalia, for that matter. The US rescued her from a refugee camp and gave her a new life and a path to success to the point that she became a US House Representative. If there's someone who should be grateful to the US, it's Omar, so when she harshly criticizes the country, I'm taken aback.

But Tammy Duckworth? Whoa. We're talking about someone with a much different fiber.

I admire the US Military and I definitely don't like it when a decorated US veteran with severe combat injuries who CHOSE to be in that position (other service women do not need to participate in combat) is called a coward, of all things!

I'll challenge it. Losing her legs almost 16 years ago doesn't give her a pass on what she says and does today.
