Sorry doesn't work that way... I don't do my taxes either but if they are wrong the IRS is going to come to me and potentially my accountant. We are responsible for our own taxes.

If your accountant screws up. It will fall on him.

I don't do mine either. But if they audit and find criminality with the numbers. Then my Accountant/Attorney will suffer the consequences.

So, because a pre-existing dislike of someone, predicates that he his hiding something? As my mother was wont to say, 'because everyone else jumps off a cliff, you will too?'. I'm sure there is a 'reason', I just don't think it's anything worth getting one's knickers in a knot about.

I don't care if we never see his returns. It doesn't change anything he has or has not done. With the amount of digging that has been done on Trump, if there was something to salivate over, it would have long since been plastered about.

It depends on your terms of engagement. If you did not provide pertinent information to the CPA, such as unclaimed gambling winnings or some such, they can claim ignorance of fact.

It is your ultimate responsibility to review and check the information they include. Some accounting groups will claim they will defend you, but if things go sideways, defending you can amount to only paying for someone to mount your defense, interest and penalties, but you are held for the tax due.
    Fine print is a b*tch.

So by your logic if you have an accountant and commit tax fraud it's the accountant that will go to jail?

Everyone keeps thinking that this subpoena has no merit. The courts have disagreed...
