I haven't read an NFL contract but I understand that they aren't generally guaranteed. Plus the Force Majeure clause may come into play (if there's one in there).

It would be worth not having pro football just to see the greddy and the knellers get their just desserts. Hope they saved up so they don't actually have to work in their degree field for 50K a year.

Degree fielss? Some = yes, but most that do not cut it very long end up at a car dealership type job in their college town. There name is all they have. I'm sure I would not have wanted Bill Lenkaitis (Guard and center) trying to get a few wide stubby fingers in my mouth.

NFL rules do not allow guaranteed contracts. They can have a portion of the money guaranteed through a signing bonus.
