Why does early voting start that soon? Why do we even have early voting other than absentee ballots? What is this whole concept that it is somehow difficult to register to vote , more difficult to actually go to a polling place and that black people don't own ID?

A 0.1% lead for Trump in Texas is a disaster for the Trump campaign. Texas will not be the tipping point state. If Biden wins it, he will almost certainly already be well over 350 electoral votes.

What shows Biden’s inherent weakness? The fact that he now has the biggest lead at this stage of the race of any presidential candidate (of either party) in well over 20 years?

At this point in 2012, Obama was in the high 40’s. Trump’s in the very low 40’s. The big difference is that Obama only needed to regain the support of voters who were on his side in 2008 and 2009, which he did. Trump needs to convert voters who never supported him and never voted for him, which is very difficult under normal circumstances, never mind during an unprecedented public health and economic emergency.

Have you heard Biden speak lately? He’s obviously concentrating on not committing a gaffe. He’s speaking very slowly with unusually long pauses and in a distinct monotone with absolutely no voice inflection. It’s almost eerie.

He was able to win in 2016 because third parties won enough of the vote in critical states to let him win with less than 50% of the vote in those states. In fact, states where he won 50% or more of the vote accounted for less than 200 of his electoral votes. Without any significant third-party candidates in the field this time around, he has to significantly increase his vote totals to have any chance to win. So, as I said, he needs to convince material numbers of people who didn’t vote for him in 2016 and have never supported him to vote for him this year if he wants to have any chance of winning.
