Reading Walter Laqueur's Fascism: Past, Present, Future, where he dicusses the propaganda of the Nazis and came across this from Mein Kampf:

It so much resembles the media of the left today.

I wonder, is there a certain human need for clarity that's fulfilled by war?

Yeah, you're getting way ahead of the field here. If you're going to quote, please include the page numbers for reference and we're not talking about today's press.

A lot of things occur in wars. Adolf Hitler was a product of WWI. He saw his comrades killed on the front lines. He was injured in the war, saw the injustices of the Versailles Treaty. He saw liberal communism taking hold, the rot of the Weimar Republic, inflation, communist aims, (and as in some cases, capitalism aiding its spread), had discussions with some jews in Vienna, a state within a state. It was read he is not the only author of "Mein Kampf".

He had Jewish physicians as a child and as an adult. Eduard Bloch, January 30, 1872–June 1, 1945 was a medical professional practicing in Linz, Austria. Until 1907, Dr. Bloch was the physician of Adolf Hitler's family. Because Dr. Bloch was an Austrian Jew, Hitler later awarded him special protection after the annexation of Austria.

Another physician, Dr. Theodor Morell, may have had Adolf Hitler on several kinds of pills, medications, of what went on inside his mind.

Interesting, because the daily attacks I read on here of journalists, academics, and more remind me of Martin Niemöller's poem. Some recent comments about Jews and Catholics are even kind of reminiscent. However, they seem to come primarily from some of the most right-leaning members, albeit perhaps socially and not fiscally.

Americans and British didn't do too much that bad.
American and British were aware of the rapes and allowed them. Which brings up another important question:

Is torture and murder of "innocents" allowed because of ideology?
