In an effort to meet President Trump’s call to punish Germany for not meeting a 2% commitment to NATO, the Department of Defense will bring approximately 6,400 troops back to the United States and reshuffle nearly 5,600 to Belgium and Italy in what it says is a move that will reassure NATO allies of the U.S. commitment to deterring Russian aggression.


“Germany can and should pay more to its defense," Defense Secretary Mark Esper said at a Wednesday Pentagon press briefing, flanked by Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff John Hyten and joined remotely by U.S. European Command Gen. Tod Wolters.


The defense leaders assured members of the media that reshuffling 11,900 troops in short order would strengthen European defense and has been positively viewed by the NATO alliance......snip~

Y'all. Look to the back end of this. Germany is building Nord Stream II or III or however many pipelines they have between Russia and Germany. Germany also won't back away from Huawei insisting on sing Chinese 5G or some parts of it. Very well. Got money to spend on such luxuries....then you can defend yourself. You're making economic project pacts with Russia and China who are our primary adversaries, you can protest yourself. Moving them to Italy makes some sense, backing them up into Belgium makes sense as well......but the entire EU needs to change its' own diapers.

Afghanistan. East Africa. Guam. We could use them elsewhere. Keep at least 25,000 in Korea. Several pacific fleets. Add a Carrier Group in the Middle East, and start the offer sheets to Greenland, you chosen frozen ready to sell out yet. We got some colonialization in mind.
