Nobody literally “rigged” the election. But by going against DOJ policy by
1) releasing info about an ongoing investigation and,
2) releasing info about a candidate in an election year
its more than plausible that extraordinary effort was intended to influence the election. Why do you think Comey was vilified By democrats so much after that?

For the investigation to have been illegally, all the evidence (which you did not specify) would have actually had to be fake, AND all the investigators would have had to have known it was fake. If an investigator thinks evidence is real, is he still investigating illegally?

The FBI did not think the Steele Dossier was legitimate. Recently released documents show this. That was used to get the FISA warrants - illegally- for Operation Cross Fire Hurricane.
