I don't know if any of you have Twitter, accounts I don't But if you can PLEASE Support players like Jonathan Issac. Who alone on his team Stood for the Anthem..

As far as the other players, when they come out of the bubble, Spit on them as far as I am concerned.

    That analogy is wacky.

Post-war, certain sports leagues discovered that imbuing sports with patriotism was great advertising and continued the practice. It also psychologically conflates sports with patriotism in the minds of the fans. Edward Bernays would be so proud.

No where else in the world is the national anthem played outside of international competitions with the exception of Canada where the practice spread because of US leagues operating on both sides of the border.

If the problem is the politicizing of the national anthem then the simple solution is to stop playing it at national sporting events.
I agree. If the players don't like the US, don't give them a chance to disrespect it.

If the fans want it, play it before the players are allowed onto the field / court / ice.

They want to protest.....do it on their own time. Go out as a whole team. Then take a knee in the streets. Go do it in front of City Hall. As a matter of fact.....start visiting the hood. Tell them there Black Lives Matter.
Take a knee on I-95 just before rush hour when everyone is driving around 70 mph.

Protesting during the national anthem is no different from the Westboro Church groupies protesting during a soldier's funeral.

Both of those events are designed to elicit a modicum of respect from the people in attendance.

There's a good reason the Patriot Guard motorcycle riders come with their flags and position themselves between the people attending a funeral and the Westboro whackos. Perhaps it's time for the Patriot Guard to ride out onto the field/court and surround the players during the anthem so all anyone can see is a sea of flags?

LoL, love the hypocrisy displayed by conservatives (what else is new, right?). They spend eight years whining about how private businesses have the right to serve, hire, and fire anyone they want to, because...the Constitution. Now, they are saying an employee does not have any Constitutional rights, but only because the partisan hacks do not like the way they are #citizen'ing.

“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”

Are businesses allowed to sell faulty merchandise? Engage in unfair Marketing? Give out false information? Lie to people? Businesses that do those things are put out of business.

I don't know. I saw a video of someone burning the American flag this morning. The first thing I thought was "Wow, that guy really loves the USA. I really admire his patriotism".
