What's funny is that the US doesn't really have to try. China is terribly clumsy does most of the heavy lifting for "external forces".
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

So...............Very general innocuous statement. Means absolutely nothing.

Its latest manifestation came on July 23 when the US secretary of state, Mike Pompeo(the Fred Flintstone impersonator), delivered what has been called the American “Iron curtain” speech. Pompeo’s “Communist China and the Free World’s Future” speech does provide a significant insight into how the US is trying to establish a ‘new cold war’ global politics whereby it can place itself once again as the leader of the ‘free world’ against China, the so-called epitome of “threat” to America—its unilateral supremacy, its hegemonic domination of the world politics since the disintegration of the Soviet Union and its increasing tilt towards sabotaging multilateral agreements, such as the Iran nuclear deal, to extend its own and those of its allies’ supremacy, even if it comes at the expense of peace. Pompeo’s speech does show that the US is projecting China as an ‘evil power’ that needs to be countered. To quote him:
“If we bend the knee now, our children’s children may be at the mercy of the Chinese Communist Party, whose actions are the primary challenge today in the free world. General Secretary Xi is not destined to tyrannise inside and outside of China forever, unless we allow it. Now, this isn’t about containment. Don’t buy that. It’s about a complex new challenge that we’ve never faced before. The USSR was closed off from the free world. Communist China is already within our borders. So we can’t face this challenge alone. The United Nations, NATO, the G7 countries, the G20, our combined economic, diplomatic, and military power is surely enough to meet this challenge if we direct it clearly and with great courage.” ................ ........https://journal-neo.org/2020/08/03/d...against-china/
In the beginning, our former allies/trade partners figured that trump would get reined in by the adults, and things would return to normal. Over the years, the adults all resigned, or were fired and replaced by campaign donors or 'loyal' incompetents.

So the world moved on. China has been carving out new alliances for imports/exports. We're basically inconsequential now. Sure, many want access to our gigantic market.

But there's a moron on the border waving all the freight ships away.

Biden will have twice the work that Obama had when he took over after Bush's mess.

    Now for the facts.

China's new alliance....was with the United States after we withdrew from TPP and signed a bilateral agreement with Beijing. It's apparent some Observers just don't pay attention. We're in fact anything but inconsequential, indeed, as the United States goes, so goes the world.

I always prefer to cite an example to help some of our rocket scientist Observers understand. I ask any objective reader, Trump supporter, or idiot everyone of us falls under one of the three.....I'm in the middle while too many of our Observers are at the end...the caboose....can we look to immigration for one moment....

There are no more caravans juggernauting to the United States. Mexico has increased border security on it's own southern border. It has tripled detentions, deported most of those detained. Their northern border now where immigrant camps reside, these are no longer the burden of the American taxpayer, ICE, or Border Patrol. The Trump Wall...has worked as advertised so much so that central American migrants now seek to shelter in Mexico, knowing they cannot get into the US. The mess left by Obama was so obvious.....and Trump fixed it. Almost overnight. He insisted on his wall and diverted funds to build it....as promised...and it is working. Illegal immigration at historic lows and was occurring long before covid. Central Americans choosing to stay in Mexico rather than try to make the journey across the US border. Migrants need to get in line like everyone else and come through a border station...legally. If not, we're sending you back. This border is closed. By order of the potus.

Lip service and mere political rhetoric.....both Australia and India want to do business . I think both countries will wait and see what unfolds in the near future , and what the real substance of this "strengthening of industrial ties" means in terms of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$s ......until then , it'll be taken with the usual grain of salt.

8 countries form alliance to counter China

    Last Updated: Jun 06, 2020

The Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China, which launched Friday

The group said it aims to “construct appropriate and coordinated responses, and to help craft a proactive and strategic approach on issues related to the People’s Republic of China.” U.S. Republican Senator Marco Rubio and Democrat Bob Menendez, former Japanese defense minister Gen Nakatani, European Parliament foreign affairs committee member Miriam Lexmann and prominent U.K. Conservative lawmaker Iain Duncan Smith are all co-chairs of the newly launched group.

“The time has come for democratic countries to unite in a common defense of our shared values,” Smith, the U.K. lawmaker, said on Twitter.

Looks like you just dont have a clue. See that is our allies doing the talking. So even after Trump came along. Those foreign countries having troubles with China. Knew just who to come to. Especially since the Utter Stutterer is gone from Office and reduced to doing political speeches at peoples funerals.
