New York AG seeks to dissolve NRA in new lawsuit

New York AG seeks to dissolve NRA in new lawsuit

Not sure what the deal is. The article makes it sound like a civil case and not a criminal case. But the AG uses criminal language.

New York Attorney General Letitia James announced Thursday that her office has filed a lawsuit against the National Rifle Association and its leadership, including Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, looking to dissolve the organization.James accused the organization of having "a culture of self-dealing," taking millions of dollars for personal use and granting contracts that benefited leaders' family and associates.
"The NRA's influence has been so powerful that the organization went unchecked for decades while top executives funneled millions into their own pockets," James said in a statement. "The NRA is fraught with fraud and abuse, which is why, today, we seek to dissolve the NRA, because no organization is above the law."
    This is a developing story.

This will hurt Democrats, at least the ones who support this, big time.

The political fallout will be immediate as most people will view this as an assault upon the second amendment and the average gun owner. It will also cause a spike in NRA membership.

And liberals still claim that they are not anti second amendment.

The AG must be a Soros funded leftist.

Funny though. They'll go after a peaceful group, but the leftists can riot, loot, burn, maim, and kill all they want. lol

Just heard on the radio- there are criminal charges. Mismanagement type stuff. It is a 501(C)(4) corp, so has lots of rules on how to legally operate.

I hope the range stays open. It is about 2 miles from me.

Trump misses the point and tells reporters: I guess it is time for the NRA to move to Texas. They should move to Texas.

Just for the record, someone can be a flaming liberal visible in outer space and still be supportive of the second amendment and NRA.

Sounds like they are claiming that NRA leadership is guilty of commingling corporate and personal funds - a major legal no-no, of course, but even if it were all true I can't see the organization being in any real danger of being "dissolved" as a result.

This is nothing more than an anti second amendment element trying to eliminate the biggest obstacle to their untimate goal. They are hoping to litigate the NRA out of existence. It's going to backfire.

These idiots don't understand that their nutball actions are being tattooed to RACIST JOE'S ass. Every time some idiot pulls a stunt like this, RACIST JOE loses a few hundred thousand votes.
