Proof Masks Work. Spread the word. Not the virus

Early in July the Kansas governor signed an order to make masks mandatory throughout the state indoor businesses. But the republican legislature had taken action to strip her of the powers she needed to make such emergency orders.

As a result the mask order was not heeded in most counties. Some did. Yesterday the head of the kansas health department presented data showing the outcomes in counties that did implement a mask order vs those that did not. Take a look...

the blue line represents the case counts of (7 day MA) of counties that ignored the mask mandate. The yellow line shows the count for counties that implemented the mask mandate. The count is normalized for population.

As you can see, counties with mandatory masks are beating the virus.

you put on your mask and gloves and walk in to a store, any store.
You handle what 50 other people handled, spreading it to the next shopper. Groceries? You haul them into your house. You've just contaminated your house. The spread is insidious. It is everywhere you go and on everything you touch.
It attaches itself to your clothing. You have it on your mask, even from the outside.
At some point in time you have to remove your mask and gloves. At some point along that timeline, you've exposed yourself and anyone you've come into contact with. You have literally brought into your home. Now you're breathing it in.
    That mask has done nothing.
    Or
Put your mask on and cough. It poofs away from your face, even the slightest bit. The experts say that it keeps YOU from spreading it, if you have it. Well, that cough just let the virus loose and you've contaminated the next person.
It is insidious. It is everywhere. You will come into contact with. It is unavoidable, unless you live in total solitude and you've got enough supplies to shelter in place for two years.
But you might still come into contact once you step out.
Good luck with that mask........ (cheeky grin)

Every day on my way to my walk, I stop in and get a bottle of water at the Sheetz station. Today, a group of landscapers came in - 9 of them. Not a single mask. Two other guys, not a single mask. Big red sign on the door indicating that a mask was required.

Dr. Norman is nearly as big an idiot as our governor, Laura Kelly.

Saline County, just to the north of me implemented a mask order and their Covid cases have exploded in the past couple of weeks. Norman didn't mention that, because like most liberals, he lies.

Not everyone obeys mask orders. Some people do obey them. And that latter group of people is what dropped the numbers. Lack of full compliance explains why the case count only dropped from 9 to 5 per day. If everyone was wearing a mask maybe the count would go to 1 or even zero.

In Ontario, their numbers are still dropping now even after they have fully reopened in mid July. See my thread Who do we blame? Mask are mandated and compliance is very good according to my sources.

Around here stores have to post that sign. Many don't intend to enforce it.
