Mardi Gras is not just in NOLA.
My hometown has the second oldest Mardi Gras in the state. 2 parades on fat Tuesday. A little town of less than 5000 would swell to 60,000-110,000 people depending on the weather. Took a week just to clean the trash on the parade route. Citizens were left to clean all the rest on the side streets and their personal property.

All business have to close and lock up for the day or be robbed blind.
Lots of drunk, belligerent folks who will assault you on your own property.
    If you let them....

Just like clockwork, I saw this on CNN I think it was. The protests can rage for weeks, a motorcycle rally is the real danger where covid is concerned.

Oh....Leanne.....I apologize. I do see you linked your source in your thread start and its' CNN. I stand corrected, the fact that this is media regurgitation I thought needed to be cited, you already sourced your biased and lacking objectivity sources. My bad.

It is truly troubling that there are supposed rational people out there who claim to respect the concept of individual liberty, but willingly and even happily allow government to take control of our life. These people have no problem with shutting down an entire nation's economy, putting millions of people out of work on the basis that 2% of the population may face a health risk.

This is irrational. We shut down businesses and entire industries. We closed manufacturing of several products. We stopped educating our youth. We suspended rights guranteed through the US constitution.

There are people who actually think this is a good thing. They think this is the responsible and right thing to do. Those who disagree are vilified. They are portrayed as people who want millions to die.

No one is immune. That's the point.

And a minuscule percentage of the population is at risk. That's a more important point.

I don't hope. I know. So does everyone else who bothers to remain informed and not react based on emotions created by fear mongering.
