Could this Chinese Commercial intrusion be the reason the United States is beefing up its' own presence in Darwin, in Geraldton?

    I'd think that likely.

The US is on a campaign to beef up it's presence everywhere there's a Chinaman , even in China.....(lol) .......I suppose if a US corporation won the tender for the Port of Darwin , you'd be whistlin' a different tune ? What this is ,in reality , is foreign investment in Australia, and the more we get, the better we like it. Australia is open for business !

Why would a US corporation want a tender for the port of Darwin? Do you have some product or export we sorely need? Kangaroo burgers perhaps? We're expanding our military presence on order to balance the threat from China, not targeting your shores as a corporate competitor.

Don't spend that $1 all at once. It needs to last another 96 years.

Could be any number of reasons - coal gas iron ore bauxite uranium.....there's already massive presence by US mining corporations in Australia......the chinese obviously have their reasons , and I doubt they're anything to do with military.
