Why would you be suprised? There have been many occasions where someone has been charged with two counts of murder for killing a pregnant woman. Why is it different to charge a woman because her conduct killed the child she was carrying?

Havent they arrested or at the very least reported pregnant women who were having a glass of wine in a restaurant?

There was a guy a few years ago who claimed to be some kind of medical professional and he argued that a child up to two years old is not considered viable and could be killed based on that. He wasn't an American. He was form some European nation.

I'm not against abortion and I do think charging this woman was not appropriate.

Abortion up to the seventh grade, provided it is in the privacy of the woman's home.

A few years ago I posted, in jest, that Post Partum abortions should be allowed. Of course I was excoriated by the left for claiming they would ever condone such a procedure. Well, damn, if it isn't being allowed or at the very least deemed acceptable.

Okay. I could go along with not charging her...but i do think that sterilization would be called for to prevent this from happening to another newborn. It would be in the alleged 'mother's' benefit, freeing her to fry her brain on drugs.

Depends on the situation. Most pregnancies at 6 months are viable and beyond the point where abortion would be allowed if the victim had wanted one (aside from medical emergencies).

Why would it depend on the situation? The sixth month of pregnancy isn’t different from one woman to the other.
