What is now Angola, Nigeria and Tanzania are just a few of the nation's which sold slaves to Europe and the rest of the world. Wouldn't it be appropriate to also demand reparations from those government's too?

My ancestors fought for the north to free the slaves.

My family wants reparations from the looters. I want a 72" TV. A new pair of Nikes (size 13 please), a new Rolex...

Here's a solution to that reparation thing: Come to some total amount of money due to the descendants of slaves. Calculate the total amount of money that it will cost to repair all of the looting, vandalism, burning damage that BLM has done to our cities.

Then subtract that damage amount from the reparations due.............and spread out what's left over. Oh, and anyone who wants reparations must have proof that they descended from slaves.

I agree, however, the hard-right says it was not about slavery, but state's rights. I guess this is what happens when everyone doesn't get the memo...

In true tPF fashion, once again the hypocrisy is baffling. Whenever the topic is about the civil war/slavery/Lincoln, the right $#@!es that the war was not fought over slavery. When the topic turns to reparations, the right $#@!es that the civil war is all the payment needed because it was about freeing the slaves.

Wash, rinse, repeat.
