You have to laugh at them.....first Trump came out and said the Post Office couldnt handle all the mail in voting. Then when the Post Office stated that they could and that they have the capacity to handle it. The Lame Stream slammed Trump over it. LOL

Now DeJoy who voted for Bush Jr and Poppy Bush is a Trump stooge because he donated to Trump. Next they will go after the Board of Repubs.

Ever wondered what the death of democracy looks like? Look no further, we're here. This is a real step towards it's demise. If you compare crippling the Post Office to delaying elections, it doesn't look so bad. That's why Trump floated delaying the election.

Like it or not, more people will be voting using mail than ever before. So how can you worsen a proper vote count? Slow mail service down. Thirty-two states do not accept mailed ballots after election day, even if postmarked. Yet, with less than 90 days to go until the election, Trump’s newly appointed Postmaster General is implementing astonishing restrictions at a time when we need the post office the most. Since Trump appointed him on June 15 he has done some obvious things to prevent votes from getting counted...

Saturday Night massacre at the post office. He immediately fired 23 of the top post office lieutenants who presumably would have pushed back on the major sweeping changes he had in mind.

Ballots no longer get first class treatment. It is the longstanding practice of the post office to treat political mail as first class mail. This practice has now been cancelled. Now the post office is treating it like bulk rate mail. Bulk rate mail gets lower priority and gets thrown in the garbage if it does not go out in time. Also political mail no longer gets logged as before. As one postal worker said: “Now, we are recycling political mail.--WAPO

Eliminated over time work crippling the efficiency and causing mail to pile up. This means that bulk rate mail will get thrown out more often

Nearly tripled the cost of election mail from 20 cents to 55 cents.

If you are one of those people who still thinks mailed ballots are a problem, consider whether preventing massive amounts of votes from ever getting counted will make the count more, or less accurate.
You're that worried you won't be able to cheat in the election ?

Yes they are worried that they can't cheat. Their ACLU just tried in court saying using a stamp amounted to a Poll Tax. They lost yesterday.

Oh and their Demo groups have been sending Demo Mail in Ballots to Repubs. (Registered). lol

Gotta keep a close eye on the Deviates. They are tricksy.

    Dear Mr Utley:

I am very sorry to learn this about your mail service. I have never heard of USPS service this bad. But I will add that I have mailed a lot of stuff all over the country, and over the years stuff has gotten lost forever a couple of times in the Akron-Detroit-Cleveland area. It is the most memorably bad area in the country for mail service.

Good news, however! Your complaint has been forwarded to the head office in Washington. Your new mailman starts next year -- in February, I think, or maybe March!

    Best wishes! -- USPS.

I would not use Covid-19 to bail it out, which I understand is what the fight is about. Twisting that to 'Trump's trying to destroy the US Mail to steal the election' - is not something even the WAPO said in its article.

Right. I don't see how Covid19 could possibly help anything but weight gain. This is the dumbest democrat propaganda I've seen yet. Someone needs to turn off the Dumbdown Machine.

    This is good news indeed.

Most states have an absentee ballot system in place for those that do not want to be in a crowd on election day It works and is very secure and hard to tamper with.

All due respect to our President and to those who have had trouble with their mail service, I have to agree with you.

Thus that is why the Democrats were pushing so hard for mail in. They thought they had the system totally in their control

Yes, this will remain the great fear too -- that USPS has become politically weaponized.

    I know right!
Not to mention all the postal workers he sent to prison for their efficiency and good work:

This is not the first recent thread on this topic. Did you happen to read the one that was active a few days ago, wherein I recounted what was going on at post offices around the country as a result of new guidelines and regulations implemented by the Postmaster-General? Entire pallets of First-Class mail and parcels are sitting around unsorted and undelivered for days at a time because of a moratorium on hiring and a ban on most overtime. A calculated effort to both slow down the mail and damage public confidence in the USPS before the election has been under way for months. Congress is aware of it, the media is aware of it, anyone who works for or knows someone who works for the post office is aware of it. The only people who apparently are not aware of it are those who, out of deliberate and partisan blindness, don't want to know. C'mon, DG - you're not one of the usual board yahoos who attribute everything to TDS. Open your eyes - it will only hurt for a minute.

I hadn't seen other threads on this. I didn't attribute it to TDS. The delays in mail here has been for years, not recent. The US mail is atrocious here. Just atrocious. None of this to me attributes it to an effort do anything -- because the mail has been atrocious for the past 10-12+ years. The thing financially was circling the drain and without changes, it will - unless Congress bails it out which I don't have an appetite for - unless there's real structural changes. It's been that way for a long time. Never let a crisis go to waste - help us survive and blame the virus.

    I will review it.

Democrats Found Their Scapegoat If Biden Loses – Postmaster General Louis DeJoy

But if things go wrong, which they will, it won’t be because of Postmaster General DeJoy. It will be because Democrats put the election in the hands of an organization that is riddled with waste and that can’t be trusted to do its job.

Take a look at just a few headlines that appeared well before DeJoy took over.
    • “‘Overwhelmed’ Postal Carrier Hoarded 17,000 Pieces of Mail, Officials Say”
    • “A postal worker rented a storage unit to hide mail because he felt ‘pressured’ to deliver it”
    • “Postal service struggles leave Bay Area residents searching for their mail”
    • “3,000 Pieces of Undelivered Mail Found At DFW Postal Facility”
    • “Post office searching for missing Christmas mail in Alexandria”
    • “Former Fitchburg letter carrier, feeling stressed, fails to deliver 758 pieces”
    • “More than 1,000 pieces of stolen mail found in late postal worker’s storage unit”
    • ” Postal Service has no answer for 2018 disappearance of Neenah-Menasha mail”
    • “St. Petersburg mail carrier found with 2,129 pieces of stolen mail”
    • “60,000 ballots not delivered in Adams County; Duplicate ballots sent out in Weld County”
That’s to say nothing of the recent experience – before DeJoy took over – of problems with mail-in balloting. Just one example: The USPS inspector general investigation of the April 7 Wisconsin primary found that more than 3,500 absentee ballots never made it to voters, and hundreds had no postmarks.

It has lost $78 billion since 2007 and expects to lose $13 billion this year alone in part because of the pandemic.

An audit by the Government Accountability Office published this May declared that its business model is “not financially sustainable.”

Over the past decade — when the GAO first put the USPS on its “high risk” list — its financial picture has “worsened due to declining mail volume, increased employee compensation and benefit costs, and increased unfunded liabilities and debt.”

In normal times, Democrats can be counted on to fight any changes to USPS operations in return for the huge campaign contributions they get from postal worker unions. Since 2019, the National Association of Letter Carriers has given $890,000 to Democrats, the American Postal Workers Union $738,000, the National Rural Letter Carriers Association another $319,600, according to OpenSecrets.org. Republicans get a relative pittance from these unions.

It does make one wonder why these Democrats, who are so certain that Trump will be driven from office, are so busy making excuses should he win.

It should noted that the post office has been forced by law to pre fund their pension for 70 years. This is a restriction that no other government agency has. This is an obvious burden on their financials. 70 years! That means they are currently funding the pension of future employees who have not even been born yet.
