I went to a mandatory three-day diversity seminar. At the end we were to stand and say what we'd learned and I said I'd learned who it was okay to hate. Then I started listing them with whites, males, Jews, Christians, the rich, and others. It was hard for me not to be angry at the instructors who clearly were full of hatred and stood there screaming that they didn't hate.
One woman challenged me saying, "I don't see anything wrong with me, as a gay woman, hating Christians who want to kill me." I said, "I've seen you chatting with a man here who is a fundamentalist Christian and very active in his church." She started turning around screaming, "Who? Who is it?" "I'm not going to out him," I said.
We also had a woman teaching grade school children to be afraid of strange men until the school psychologists put a stop to it. The psychologists said the classes were doing more harm than good.
As for sex ed? I was once quoted as saying that if the schools taught sex like the taught reading by the time the kids reached puberty they wouldn't want to do it.
