That is unusually large for an asteroid. Yikes! Where is it?

Can't remember off hand.....but I think NASA had something up on it. I don't think it is anywhere close to us.

OK, not too bad. I'm surprised it didn't get sucked into Jupiter considering how much gravitational pull there is.

here is a little info on it , it is called vespa

Findings by the Dawn spacecraft, currently in orbit around Vesta, suggests the asteroid belt's second largest object more resembles a tiny planet than it does it does an asteroid. Vesta may be something between an asteroid and a rocky world like Earth, according to the Associated Press.

but when googling this info I came accross this piece of information

Jupiter sized asteroid throwing planet discovered???

It seems that there is a cap of scientists in NASA that believe there may be a giant planet- up to four times the mass of Jupiter- may be lurking on the other side of the solar system throwing asteroids at us...
The theory goes that our Sun may have a companion that disturbs comets from the edge of the solar system — a giant planet with up to four times the mass of Jupiter, researchers suggest. It’s theorized that the object may be some 30,000 astrological units from the Sun [Fun fact: An "astrological unit" is the distance between the Earth and the Sun (roughly 93 million miles).], making the planet so cold that it would have been difficult for us to see it with our current technology.
