Wow, that's scary. I think surviving a plane crash like that would be pretty traumatic - your worst nightmare, or at least mine.

Glad to hear that it sounds like everyone on-board survived.

Now they say that one of the two who died, was run over by one of the emergency vehicles.

it is amazing people got out like they did....and they are now saying the pilot was in 'training' and had only 43 hours of flight time ....on the 777...

on was on a flight with a group of military when i was much younger..i was seated next to an air force person...who looked at the window in mid flight and goes...'we just lost an engine'...everyone begins to chatter...i am like 16 or so and scared to death.....i remember one guy going....i have always wanted to be in a plane crash....and people wonder why i dont like to fly

Been following that. It looked like it was coming in too low. There's questions about the pilots experience. The tower directed him to avert landing and come around again seconds before the crash. The nose lifted. The engines were in idle.

Latest news says definitely pilot error. My email buddy, a pilot with far more experience than the guy flying this plane, said so within hours after it happened.

Among other things, the pilots failed to spool up the engines on approach so that they could apply emergency power if needed. This is apparently SAP when flying a jet. Prop planes respond much quicker to powering up.

Here's the same video @Peter1469 posted but without the side panels.

You can see a lot more detail.

it does seem that any time i have been landing over the water to land....you go thru this...surge..where for a minute you almost think they are aborting and gonna gain speed ..and then suddenly you are on the ground and they are hitting the brakes...of course at this point my eyes are closed and a statue...i am always the one going..why cant we just drive?
