I think the best case scenario here is if the baby came out black.

Charlie is a good sort. He won't be around for too long though as he is getting on himself a bit...

Hope all goes well and its a girl.
You don't even think it's kind of neat due to the historical factor? The royals have such a long history and their ancestors some of the most famous people in history. That, to me, is probably the coolest part of royalty, the background history. Most of their power has been removed and they often generate their own income, (such as the Duchy of Cornwall for the Prince of Wales). Their houses and jewels and antiques are largely owned by the state, (which generates millions in tourism) and they serve as ambassadors for issues that need the attention, (for example, Kate is a patron to an addictions program). I mean, look what Diana did with HIV/AIDS and landmines in Africa. They have the power of influence to bring awareness to important issues that are ignored or have a stigma associated with them.

I do and I sympathize with monarchism to a certain extent. Modern "royalty" is more part of the celebrity culture than anything else though. They are a far cry from the statesmen and warriors of tradition.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Well, Kate went into labour this morning and arrived at the hospital around 5:30 London time. Should know any time know whether it's a boy or girl, although it might take a few days for the name.

glad to see this bit of news...
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are moments away from becoming parents for the first time. But as they plan for the huge life change a newborn brings to any family, no matter how wealthy or how blue the blood, one things is for sure: Kate and Wills will be doing this very differently from previous generations of Royals.
The two are said to be planning to break with the long standing tradition of a formal nanny (or many nannies) taking control of childcare in the Royal household.
Instead they advertised for a housekeeper to help with multiple household chores and help watch the Royal baby, with Kate and William expecting to do much of the hands on care taking themselves.
