Who Owns the National Debt

With so many major countries in massive debt, it naturally leads to the question who do they owe? In other words, where is this wealth being borrowed from? Turns out...




So in our case, 47% of the debt is held by the Fed Reserve and Government (for example S.S.) whereas in those other nations you can see in red how much is held by foreign interests.
