Democrats believe that "politics is war by other means." And they are at war with America, with common sense and even common decency. Those who would mount an effective opposition had better have a high tolerance for slime, slander and abuse.

Yes, but if we had more gun checks at gun shows, this wouldn't have happened!

See how simple it is to fix all ills, right all wrongs? Just write some more liberal laws and hire some more of those oh so effective government workers and contractors!

Folks, we're talking about the government. This is like you expect a person with severe mental disabilities to learn advanced mathematics.

When I was in the service, with a security clearance, a guy went berserk and shot up an airplane on the runway. By the next morning everyone knew that he'd shown up for work one night wearing one combat boot and one low-quarter and had climbed into bed with another airman one night. The list of nutty things he'd done went on but while the behavior was noted by co-workers, superiors didn't seem to think it was important.

When I was in the military it was the bad old days when gays weren't tolerated. Well, there were the two guys in the detachment who got room reassignments so they could bunk together and walked around holding hands. But, nobody in a position of authority noticed until the local police marched them in wearing handcuffs. We never heard exactly what happened but it happened in a bathroom at the Greyhound bus station.

Really, when I got my security clearance I was a 20-year old alcoholic. "Here's your Top Secret-Crypto." When I was stationed on Shemya, I was asked whether or not I would talk if I were captured by the Russians. My response was a logical, "Of course." You folks need to seriously lower your expectations of government to "walks without stumbling sometimes".

The only reason conservatives get an edge on this is that liberals want the government $#@!ing up everything. Conservatives want to limit the number of things government is allowed to $#@! up. So did the founding fathers.
