I had no idea what a Mainecoon was until I met "Mainecoons" on another forum if that makes you feel any better. I thought he was from Maine too.

No reason for that. It is a unique American breed of cat, the cat picture in my avatar is one, his name is Max and he is a very large and assertive kitty.

Max certainly looks like a very serious cat.

I have one that looks just like Max. He's around 20 lbs. His name is Fred.

Well, folks from Maine are sort of an... odd bunch - and I mean that in a sort of complimentary way. I associated with them very well. They have rednecks, but they're a far different breed than you see south of the Mason Dixon.

That explained two things also - why a guy from main would have a cat as an avatar.

Is this the place to ask a question about the forum? I hope so...I'd like to do a search for a thread I posted but I can't find a search function. I know there has to be one so can someone point it out to me? Thanks.

Of course! I post and find a little box in the upper right marked 'advanced search'....that's how life is sometimes...

Great place...I love the look, very classy.

Top right. In the slate-blue bar under the forum title. The white rectangle.
