The Year 2000 by J Goebbels

Background: Here Goebbels takes on the role of prophet, imaging the world two generations after German victory. The war was nearing its end, but Goebbels seeks to persuade his fellow citizens that victory is still possible.Goebbels uses the phrase “an iron curtain” to describe the results of the Soviet Union’s advance into Europe, a phrase later made famous by Winston Churchill. Goebbels was not the first to use the phrase, but his use brought it to prominence.
The source: “Das Jahr 2000,” Das Reich, 25 February 1945, pp. 1-2.
The three enemy war leaders, American sources report, have agreed at the Yalta Conference to Roosevelt’s proposal for an occupation program that will destroy and exterminate the German people up until the year 2000. One must grant the somewhat grandiose nature of the proposal. It reminds one of the skyscrapers in New York that soar high into the sky, and whose upper stories sway in the wind. What will the world look like in the year 2000? Stalin, Churchill, and Roosevelt have determined it, at least insofar as the German people are concerned. One may however doubt if they and we will act in the predicted manner.
No one can predict the distant future, but there are some facts and possibilities that are clear over the coming fifty years. For example, none of the three enemy statesmen who developed this brilliant plan will still be alive, England will have at most 20 million inhabitants, our children’s children will have had children, and the events of this war will have sunk into myth.
One can also predict with a high degree of certainty that Europe will be a united continent in the year 2000. One will fly from Berlin to Paris for breakfast in fifteen minutes, and our most modern weapons will be seen as antiques, and much more. Germany, however, will still be under military occupation according to the plans of the Yalta Conference, and the English and Americans will be training its people in democracy. How empty the brains of these three charlatans must be — at least in the case of two of them!
One can imagine things turning out differently, but it is now too late. The Führer made numerous proposals to London, the last time four weeks before the war began. He proposed that German and British foreign policy work together, that the Reich would respect England’s sea power as England would respect the Reich’s land power, and that parity would exist in the air. Both powers would join in guaranteeing world peace, and the British Empire would be a critical component of that peace. Germany would even be ready to defend that Empire with military means if it were necessary. Under such conditions, Bolshevism would have been confined to its original breeding grounds. It would have been sealed off from the rest of the world. Now Bolshevism is at the Oder River. Everything depends on the steadfastness of German soldiers. Will Bolshevism to pushed back to the East, or will its fury flood over Western Europe? That is the war situation. The Yalta Communiqué does not change things in the least. Things depend only on this crisis of human culture. It will be solved by us, or it will not be solved at all. Those are the alternatives.

We Germans are not the only ones who say this. Every thinking person knows that today, as so often in the past, the German people have a European mission. We may not lose our courage, even though the mission brings with it enormous pain and suffering. The foolish know-it-alls have brought the world more than once to the edge of the abyss. At the last moment, the sight of the terrifying misery alarmed humanity enough for it to take the decisive step backwards at the critical moment. That will be the case this time as well. We have lost a great deal in this war. About all we have left are our military forces and our ideals. We may not give these up. They are the foundation of our existence and of the fulfillment of our historical obligations. It is hard and terrible, but also honorable. We were given our duty because we alone have the necessary character and steadfastness. Any other people would have collapsed. We, however, like Atlas carry the weight of the world on our shoulders and do not doubt.

Germany will not be occupied by its enemies in the year 2000. The German nation will be the intellectual leader of civilized humanity. We are earning that right in this war. This world struggle with our enemies will live on only as a bad dream in people’s memories. Our children and their children will erect monuments to their fathers and mothers for the pain they suffered, for the stoic steadfastness with which they bore all, for the bravery they showed, for the heroism with which they fought, for the loyalty with which they held to their Führer and his ideals in difficult times. Our hopes will come true in their world and our ideals will be reality. We must never forget that when we see the storms of this wild age reflected in the eyes of our children. Let us act so that we will earn their eternal blessings, not their curses.

I thought that script was kind of interesting.

I guess that he had no idea that the world economy would be split into two in some cowardly 'cold war' stalemate for decades. Things didnt really pan out the way he predicted but he got some stuff correct. And USA still controls Germany and all of Europe. So Ha! Well maybe not the Ukraine. Well sort of. (:

So. He would have known he was going to have to kill himself sometime soon by that stage. You can tell he doesnt believe what he is writing. He is defeated.

60% of Germans say that America cannot be trusted today. Merkel is a US puppet. Democracy is on its last legs as Europe is forced to cobble together absurd coalitions. The IMF( Bretton Wood institution ) is now eating itself by enslaving Europe. The reserve status of the USD is closer to being unseated by the day.

One day those in the USA will curse the day in which a long-forgotten American president released a communiqué at a conference at Yalta, which will long since have sunk into legend
It turned out to be China and Russia. Not Russia. (: So bringing down the wall didnt really win the day because of the failure of Tiananmen Square.

The world is splitting down the middle again. And the USA is the bad guy. Why does Ukraine want stronger Eastern ties? Because of the wealth of China and Asia. That is why the west has been trying to overthrow their government. The west has also been trying to overthrow the government of Thailand. Our media and governenmts are encouraging the idiot anarchists. The wealth of Asia is why the USA has made its imperial 'pivot' to the Asia Pacific. And can US media stop saying that we in the region feel "neglected". That may be true but not in the way that you use the word. Stay away. We are happy that you are too distracted with other problems. Good. We hope your problems get much much worse and you bring marines home from Australia and shut you military opperations/bases that you have in Australia. How can you afford it? Because you just print money and send USD to soldiers that they can spend in our economy and we like the rest of the world must absorb it. The marines make us a target not protect. And our puppet politicians are the only ones that really want US troops here. Why not bring US troops home? All of them. All of them.

I am very happy that the Ukraine can tell which way the wind is blowing. Their decision to reject the EU and the west is fantastic news and will allow Ukraine to join the Russian led Customs Union. The EU is a loser. The EU is the past. The west is in decline. I am happy that the Ukraine has chosen the winning side.

The western media campaign aimed against the Ukraine leadership is unprecendented. The Ukraine is an important nation and having them jump ship from the western side is very important and historic. This historic move could encourage other nations in Europe to consider dumping the EU and coming over to the East.

A nation like Greece has a great deal to gain by jumping ship. The EU could very well crumble if just one big player can be enticed to join the wining side. The Ukraine rejection is significant.

I was very happy to read that the rabble of agitators that were calling for an overthrow of government have been dealt with. These anarchists are risking the future of the Ukraine and should not be ignored. Calling for the overthrow of a government is quite serious and is against the so-called 'democracy' of the west that they love to boast about. I do not appreciate hysterical western media that is reporting on the protest clean up as if the protesters are some kind of victims. This minority are trying to overthrow government and throw the nation of Ukraine into anarchy. I am very happy that they have been sent home by the Ukrainian police. I hope there are no further protests or criminality.

The western media needs to respect the wise choice that the Ukrainians have made.

    The Ukraine is strong!

I was surprised to see that the Government of Poland is interfering with the domestic affairs of Ukrainia.

Riot police "brutally dispersed" several hundred people who were demonstrating peacefully in support of Ukraine's European integration, according to a statement from Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "Forceful dispersion of peaceful demonstrations does not help the cause of Ukraine's integration with Europe," ministry spokesman Marcin Wojciechowski said. "We caution Ukrainian authorities against using force as it may carry unpredictable and irrevocable consequences."
What do protests in Ukrainia have to do with Poland?
As usual our world policeman the USA is also telling Ukrainians what to do.
The United States condemned what it called "violence against protesters" in a statement posted online by the U.S. Embassy in Kiev.
"We urge the government of Ukraine to respect the rights of civil society and the principles of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, which are fundamental to the democratic values that are the bedrock of our strategic partnership," it said.
What in gods name does calling for the overthrow of a government have to do with democracy? Why is anyone even still listening to the USA? They are idiotic. They call for anarchy. Why are the US so silent about the violent protesters in Thailand?

All the US side cares about is that the Ukraine is coming over to the East. The west is a loser. The EU is a loser. The USA is a loser.
This is the Pacific Century. The Asian Century. The Diamond Decade. There is no point in Ukrainians clinging to a sinking ship. If the captains wish to go down with their ships then fine but Ukrainians should be free to choose their own political destiny without interference from Poland, USA and others.
So when do we declare FEMEN to be an illegal imperial cult? Those people are criminals and are guilty of indecent exposure. Someone must tell them all that deAmericanization will help their cause.

    I am awesome at Risk.

    The Ukraine is strong! (:
    -----------

I am yet to read a western news story that comdemns the criminal protests taking place in Thailand. I think it has become very clear that the protests have become dangerous and I would like to see the Thai government issue a final warning to protesters and then crack down hard on the core agitators.

I am worried for the safety of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. The so-called protesters have turned violent and are also a danger to the general public.

The protesters are a minority and have failed. I believe that any further protests should be considered illegal unless the protesters are given a permit and a set time to protest peacefully in a suitable location that does not annoy other Thialand citizens or visitors.

Prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra is one of my favourite leaders of the Asia Pacific and I was happy that she easily survived the no confidence vote the other day as she has majority support and majority government. The protests have been tolerated for long enough and I think it is time to arrest people for their criminal and dangerous behaviour.

Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban has told supporters to surround the headquarters of the national and city police, along with Government House and even a zoo on Sunday.

"We need to break the law a little bit to achieve our goals," said Suth

The western media should not have encouraged Suthep Thaugsaban and in my opinion this man is an admited criminal and agitator. He should be arrested for his crimes and for encouraging others to commit crimes.

I am also unsure why western media is so reluctant to use images of the attractive Thai Prime Minister. With all the western media reports it is rare to even see an image of the beautiful Yingluck Shinawatra. It is clear that her safety is at risk and the protest must end one way or another.

I would like to see more Yingluck Shinawatra in western media reports and less Suu Kyi. Who even cares about Kyi? She isnt even the leader of Maynmar. It is clear to me that western media are against Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. The west should stop encouraging criminal protests and putting peoples safety at risk.

    I WILL FIND HIM!

    (:

I really didnt like the ending of Man of Steel. Superman is America right? And that cool guy is some kind of Nazi Stalin? It was kinda long for a superhero movie too if you ask me.

We could have built a new Krypton in this squalor, but you chose the humans over us!

"Will Bolshevism to pushed back to the East, or will its fury flood over Western Europe? That is the war situation. The Yalta Communiqué does not change things in the least. Things depend only on this crisis of human culture. It will be solved by us, or it will not be solved at all." - Joseph Goebbels

American culture turned out to be far more degenerate than anything from the East. It was Capitalism and not Bolshevism that diseased all of human culture.

We are animals living in squalor. Very very fat fat well fed animals.

German society was awesome apart from how racist it was. An inclusive neo-National Socialism is the way of the future for the west. We will pretend that it is State Capitalism and cooperate with China. The State must keep power. How can any private group hold a nation without it having a healthy government? Public-Private is the way of the future and if the west is so against SOE then National Socialism will be perfect. The State and the business community need to be on the same page.

Democracy is done. Not only is it destructive to society with its constant conflict but it destroys the identity of a nation as well as gives the competitor an ally within. The Tea Party helps China. Things are getting to be so that a nation must be united on policy. The USA cannot afford to have the Tea Party doing the propaganda work of the CPC for them. Democracy hurts us all. It is time to put an end to the chrade of modern democracy and begin a transition to something better that unites us together.

edit- and what did 50 Cent just call me? A what? You cant say that can you? There is a certain rule. Does 50 like fish sticks too? Im not trying to pull him back. He is making us sink. Maybe we should throw the G Unit overboard?

    Throw the sailors overboard?

    Yaba daba do?

On top of a cop car! NERD and the strange looking lead singer fella are a deplorable influence on our youth. Thats for sure.

edit- What is taking so long anyway? That song is old. It must be almost over now.

And its way too damn late to apologise.

The narrative of the city of Babel is recorded in Genesis 11:1-9. Everyone on earth spoke the same language. As people migrated from the east, they settled in the land of Shinar. People there sought to make bricks and build a city and a tower with its top in the sky, to make a name for themselves, so that they not be scattered over the world. God came down to look at the city and tower, and remarked that as one people with one language, nothing that they sought would be out of their reach. God went down and confounded their speech, so that they could not understand each other, and scattered them over the face of the earth, and they stopped building the city. Thus the city was called Babel.

    So....God was a propagandist? (:
