You are correct, @Kabuki Joe.....I made a very wrong choice when I married him. I was 18, and an immature 18 at that. And yes. Seriously. Kill. No exaggeration. My Dad was a career Marine, and if he'd have seen the lumps and cuts and bruises on my face and jaw, (thank God for makeup!) he would have lost it. I guess you would have to see your own baby girl get beat up, maybe, to understand. But anyway, I DIDN'T get anyone else involved. I handled it myself. That's, I think, when I grew up. I didn't stay in an abusive relationship. I didn't tell ANYBODY until years later.....too embarrassed. And by the time I met and married Mr. Ocean, it just didn't matter anymore.
