    Sigh...

Think the West will influence Israel to listen now with Iran sending a Fleet into the Med? Plus Russia warning Israel not to make any moves.
Iran is certainly good at using the diplomacy system to stall for time.

No one wants to go to war and Iran takes advantage of that. They want to talk and talk and talk until they're ready to act. They have no intention of peace.

here is the thing though unless Iran has the backing of Russia all they can do is saber rattle, they are not a threat to anyone excpt Isreal and Isreal has the capacity to cut Iran out of the picture PDQ.. it is Russia instigating the issues that make it seem like armageddon is right around the corner

I think Russia has as much to gain from this as China does North Korea. At some point, these states become liabilities.

It's only in Russia's best interest to dump Iran if Iran is prepared to use their nukes. If Iran remains isolated and doesn't do anything, plus no one else will buy their oil, it's hard to imagine a situation more favorable toward the Russians. So much the better for the Russians if the saber rattling keeps the U.S. busy. Again, all dependent on if the Iranians really will start a war. A nuclear arms race is a problem but I don't think other ME states are nearly as close as Iran, and it is just a matter of time until they all get them anyway.

Iran's clumsy maneuvering could result in conflict. That's my point. Saber rattling could have consequences. There was a point where China (desperate for international recognition as a responsible and respectable power) told NK to cut the $#@!.
