US, Britain Urge Israel Not to Attack Iran.....

JERUSALEM (AP) — The U.S. and Britain on Sunday urged Israel not to attack Iran's nuclear program as the White House's national security adviser arrived in the region, reflecting growing international jitters that the Israelis are poised to strike.

In their warnings, both the U.S. joint chiefs of staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, and British Foreign Minister William Hague said an Israeli attack on Iran would have grave consequences for the entire region and urged Israel to give international sanctions against Iran more time to work. Dempsey said an Israeli attack is "not prudent," and Hague said it would not be "a wise thing."

In an interview broadcast on CNN Sunday, Dempsey said Israel has the capability to strike Iran and delay the Iranians "probably for a couple of years. But some of the targets are probably beyond their reach."

He expressed concern that an Israeli attack could spark reprisals against U.S. targets in the Gulf or Afghanistan, where American forces are based.
"That's the question with which we all wrestle. And the reason that we think that it's not prudent at this point to decide to attack Iran," Dempsey said.

In a sign that the diplomatic pressure might be working, Iran's foreign minister said Sunday that a new round of talks with six world powers on the nuclear program will be held in Istanbul, Turkey. Ali Akbar Salehi didn't give any timing for the talks.....snip~

    Associated Press – 2 hrs 19 mins ago<<<<<More Here!

We Immediately sent somebody over besides Dempsey. Seems all are starting to brow-beat the Israelis down about not attacking Iran. Even to the point of telling them that we doubt they can get the job done. This is not going to sit well with the Israelis. Obama cannot keep telling them for the best interests of the region. Plus the French have been hammering at them to not make any moves.

Israel has it's own National Security Interests and in that essence of things they can tell us to STFU. Moreover it's not Israel now threatening they want a Nuke. It's the damn Saudi pushing that agenda for the Sunni. Then Turkey!

Instead of the Saudi doing all this talking behind closed doors. Why don't they take their putz azzes on over to Iran and do something about them instead of always talking $#@! about them, and trying to get others to their dirty work. But I do take notice of the Suaidis allowing Irans Fleet to dock in their port.....huh?

Israel can't get the entire job done by themselves. They likely won't waste resources to keep the Straights of Hormuz open, nor should they. They feel that a nuclear Iran will attempt to destroy Israel, it would be criminally irresponsible for them not to act. If the West doesn't help, the West will suffer depression as oil is choked off from the market.

Western intervention will be a fait accompli, I suppose.

I understand what the piece says and we all know what Israels concerns are with a nuclear Iran. Do you doubt what the Israelis are saying already.....about Iran has four bombs now? Who won't waste resources to keep the Strait of Hormuz open?

Considering that Khamenei released his statements concerning Israel during their Celebration last week. Don't you think the Israelis wouldnt mind delaying their program despite not destroying the program? Don't you think that this would at least afford them more time. As well as the West? I would think Israel already knows that all the targets could not be reached.

I don't think that Iran has 4 bombs. They must test them to see if they work. No tests yet.

The Straight of Hormuz: Israel has to focus its forces on the nuke sites. They don't have anything left to worry about the Straight of Hormuz- that is unless they plan on using their own nukes; then we are talking a different game.

I think that Israel will not allow Iran to get a nuke- that is unacceptable Israel. They have the Samson Option.

It is also in Israel's best interest to overstate the Iranian threat. Much like we did with Saddam and the WMDs.

Samson Option. Great if somewhat chilling name.

Has Iran ever been this bold with the moves they have made after The Overwhelming Sanctions that are now in affect with them? IMO I believe they have the material and that they are in the process of preparing it for a ballistic missile system. Again at the same time they stated they were setting talks in Turkey. Plus now the AEIA wants to look into some other area with more inspection than what was known.

Think the West will influence Israel to listen now with Iran sending a Fleet into the Med? Plus Russia warning Israel not to make any moves.
