Hey kids, look at the fundie gloss.

Matthew 19:8 He said to them, "For your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

So in this case the Mosaic law is for a bad purpose -- allowing divorce because of the hardness of their hearts -- in opposition to God's law, which says divorce is not permissible.

Now, can you gloss for us some more! Is Jesus rejecting the Mosaic law on divorce or rejecting it. Come on, you can say it!

James 5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.

    Looks who's talking!

The religious right and their fabricated homophobia and hatred of working people, their smug use of the Old Testament while the hypocritically exempt themselves from it.

God's going to get you for that!

Proverbs 17:5 He who mocks the poor insults his Maker.

Romans 2:1 Therefore you have no excuse, O man, whoever you are, when you judge another; for in passing judgment upon him you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things.

James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.

I'm just quoting the bible. If you find it offensive, it says something about how you have rejected the gospel message, as all fundies have. I don't take the bible literally, but since you heretical fundies do, you're stuck with its condemnation of your type.

More likely Jesus was 'condemning' as you say the world. Divorce is not limited to just a problem in Israel.

What Jesus was referring to was the sinful nature of men and women that makes divorce necessary. NOT that God never said it was not possible. He hates divorce but recognizes the failings of humans.

tigger really gets worked up over this stuff.

    Exactly.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

What is it with this kid? Let uis know when you can address my comments regarding James. Until then you're just cherry picking verses and presenting them out of context like some "fundie". Your pastor sucks.

Son, when you repeatedly use the same terms over and over again (i.e. gloss and meme) it makes it appear that you just learned them . Worse still, using them inappropriately as you are now just makes you look dumb. Just an FYI.

So Jesus neither rejects Moses or the law. That's what I thought. Now don't hurt your back moving those goalposts!
