Sochi Olympics Terrorism ~ The Black Widows

    Today

Russia hunting as many as 4 *Black Widows*

    http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2...ck-widows?lite

MOSCOW — Russian security services may be looking for as many as four “black widows” dispatched to carry out terrorist attacks related to the Winter Olympics, including at least one woman believed to be in or near the Olympic city of Sochi, U.S. and Russian sources told NBC News on Monday.

Wanted posters that have gone up in Sochi, where the games open Feb. 7, describe at least one suspected terrorist — Ruzan Ibragimova, also known as Ruzana, the 22-year-old widow of an Islamic militant killed by Russian security forces last year.

The notices describe her as having a limp in her right leg, a left arm that does not bend at the elbow and a 4-inch scar on her cheek.

and yet they refuse to allow anyone to address the security issues.

i think every country should refuse to send their athletes there until russia allows other countries to intervene. they aren't capable of protecting all those people.

Terrorists are drooling at the chance to embarrass the Russians. Kinda shoots down the theory that they only hate Americans because we're allied with Saudi Arabia.

I wonder if they're upset about female athletes being permitted to compete, Jillian?

What country is capable, where would you suggest we have the games?

I watched a mini-series about Carlos the Jackal and realized that terrorism has drastically changed since the 1960's. Carlos always had a goal behind his acts of terror, a political end he was trying to achieve. Modern terrorists just attack random victims, and there is no rhyme or reason to it.

I think Carlos worked for money, not an ideal.

Black Widows? That's kinda bad ass, especially the description of one of the women. It's like they are a ring of supervillains.
"Those who produce should have, but we know that those who produce the most — that is, those who work hardest, and at the most difficult and most menial tasks, have the least."

Increased security means they have to go after "soft" targets like buses and public markets versus airplanes and court houses.
