Why even ask.....you didn't know about any! By the way, just how did they find out about who and what took place when Christ died. Names of the Romans, thieves up on the cross too. Who was the Centurion in Charge of the detail. The whole story brutha. Writings and letters from all those around. Reports and records.....huh?!

Yet you don't think that the Catholic Church wouldn't have any of these letters? Not just from Roman Soldiers, but other Christians as well?!!!!

Do yourself a favor and go talk to that Priest about it. Probably easier to reach and engage!

No, it's called oral history. You do realize more than 90% of the imperial population was illiterate, right?

You claimed there were letters written by Roman soldiers from the time of Jesus of Nazareth that mention him. They are not hidden in the Vatican. They don't exist.

This is the topic. These letters do not exist.

BTW, Roman soldiers' "families" were usually nearby in this era if they were permitted to marry at all. Moreover, most Roman soldiers could not read or write.

This is the topic.....Apply common sense. You know usually you are remarkably intelligent. But some basic things you just seem to let slip by.

If there were letters they would have been written by the elite and perhaps some officers. With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if letters concerning Jesus were written; I would be surprised if they survived.

Also letters could have been sent by common soldiers through the use of a scribe. I don't know whether this was a common practice or not.

Get back to you on what? There are no extant letters written by Roman soldiers from the time of Christ that refer to Christ.

It's possible such a letter(s) was written but to suggest that there is a Vatican cover up concerning their existence is nonsense. This is Da Vinci Code style hornswoggle. I could certainly imagine a local official mentioning the execution of some obscure Jew like Jesus of Nazareth in a matter of fact sort of way. Moreover, it would be the last nail in the coffin of the Jesus Christ Myth. The RCC (or any other Chrstian sect) would have no interest in the suppression of such material.

They did.....plus there were others around besides Roman Soldiers. Those of the likes of Pliny. But even moreso those of Christs detractors. One's that were not Hebrew. All this nonesense about how people think he didn't exist is a joke. Even those that totally disliked him admitted to things he did or validate that he was round.

Pliny would have been 10 years old when Jesus was executed and virtually no one outside of Palestine had ever heard of Jesus of Nazareth until after his death. No such letters survive.
