Maybe terrorism? no one knows yet.

They found an oil slick, so maybe we will get more information.

A massive international sea search has so far turned up no trace of the jet, though Vietnamese authorities said late Sunday that a low-flying plane had spotted a rectangular object in waters about 90 kilometers (56 miles) south of Tho Chu island, in the same area where oil slicks were spotted Saturday. State media speculated the object might be from the missing plane.

Because Muslim extremists who happen to be in Malaysia have that opportunity. I mean obviously we don't know, the lack of radio contact suggests something happened very quickly or something prohibited communication.....there are many things that you can fill the blanks in with that.....

Triple 7 is pretty reliable as far as I know. Haven't heard of any flight ending glitches yet. I would guess flight deck occupation followed by major struggle. This would cater to no communication.
