I put forth a rather logical argument for that, and it's been ignored.

And I am ignored for putting forth the logical but unlinked argument that God should be held accountable for things done by the clergy to those who trust God. In the usual exact parallel to religion, many Russians felt that Stalin was all right; it was the people he appointed over them who were evil.

This is not about free will, so don't try to squirm out of your selective resentment with that catch-all excuse. We have free will to go against God's word. God betrayed our trust, especially with the incredibly vicious and corrupt Catholic hierarchy before the Reformation. And the fact that there was a Reformation didn't atone for God's betrayal of His believers.

Started The Christians as the Romans Saw Them today. I think this will help give me a better understanding of Christianity and why it developed as it did. This may interest you. The reference to Christ in the work of Suetonius is controversial but what I didn't know was that Tertullian mentioned that Christianus was sometimes mispronounced Chrestianus.

"Since the Jews constantly made disturbances at the instigation of Chrestus, he expelled them from Rome."

I agree that Chrestus could still be an obscure Jew about whom we know nothing else but I thought that was interesting.
