2 Brazilian Women Kidnapped in Egypt's Sinai.....

AL-ARISH, Egypt (AP) — Armed tribesmen on Sunday kidnapped two Brazilian women and their Egyptian tour guide as they were traveling on a bus near Mount Sinai, according to security officials.
The head of security in Egypt's south Sinai Peninsula, Mahmoud Hefnawi, said six armed men with covered faces approached the tour bus carrying the Brazilian women and took them and their guide off the bus. The remaining passengers were allowed to go.

An Egyptian official said the abductors were identified as Bedouins from the area who have a relative detained on possession of drugs and illegal weapons. He spoke on condition of anonymity in line with police rules.

Last month, three South Korean women and separately two American women were kidnapped near the monastery. They were released unharmed.....snip~

Looks like it doesnt matter if people are on their way to a religious site and or tourist site in Egypt Anymore. Especially Women. The Bedouins are a separate entity when it comes to dealing with the egyptians or others in the region. Not much was mention about the two American women that were abducted. That was around the same time as the Egyptians were arresting those with the NGO's there. Mounti Sinai too.

Doesn't seem to have anything to do with radicalism or terrorism. Bad news for the tourist industry. Places like Somalia don't attract many travelers but tourist hot spots like Egypt best crack down and hard.

Tourism is a large segment of the Egyptian economy.

Best get a handle on that quick. The last thing I would want as an Egyptian is for Egypt to be a place where people are afraid to go. Then again, we aren't talking about me...
