    One of the most talented early metal bands: what can you say when you have legends like Ronnie James Dio--one of the greatest hard rock/early metal vocalists--and Ritchie Blackmore--one of hard rock's/early metal's greatest guitarists--in the same band?!?! The results HAVE to be GREAT! Virtually no other band in the mid-70s sounded like this, or rocked this hard.:

    Dopethrone is an AMAZING album by Electric Wizard--a top Doom album, actually--but hardly qualifies as 'old school' metal, having been released as recently as the year 2000.
