Things sure have changed since the days of Megadeth and the like... IDK. I like modern metal a lot more.
BTW my favorite Megadeth song is Trust. Kill the King and Crush 'Em are also really good though.
I'll take those over lite-rock crap like Peace Sells any day.
^One of their more less-heard of tracks
Everyone and their grandma have heard Symphony of Destruction by this point so I won't even bother.
While we're talking Megadeth, how can anyone forget their staple track?
"I got no card so I got no soul ..."
Meh. Overemotional self-pity crap like Metallica's Fade to Black, Nothing Else Matters and Trapped Under Ice.
Metal should be powerful not pathetic.
Kill the King is powerful, too, people want to hear about overthrowing the big-government elites, nobody gives a $#@! about your personal life or feelings or whatever.
Given progressive metal as a genre was kickstarted by Megadeth, I'm always ready to pass on them regardless of lyrical depth.
"I got no card so I got no soul ..."
Megadeth was hardly progressive, especially when they first started. IMO Rush started progressive metal in 1976 with their album 2112:

I've heard Megadeth's best music described as a kind of metal jazz, thanks mostly to the incredibly imaginative and intricate guitar picking of David Mustaine.
