By providing scholarships? I would think that is an influence, no? Most people tend to be grateful for such things unless they're $#@!s. Knowing you went to college because libertarians believed in you might make you reconsider your original feelings for libertarians.

    Desolation comes upon the sky..

Oh stop @Alyosha, these students and or guardians could care less where the money comes. Do you really believe some beneficiary would say no to the scholarship on ideological grounds ??
It's ok if you disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

Um, yes? I was a beneficiary of scholarships and remember how grateful I was to receive them.

I had to think about that for a moment because it was not a political group who supplied the various scholarships. I certainly would have taken it into consideration had it been a group I had no ideological preference for, yes.

Fair enough @Alyosha. I just find the Unions actions petty and self centered. Wonder how many students won't get any scholarship moneys because of their childishness ??

Have we become so blinded by party politics that we object to the source of scholarship grants from those with an opposing view? It's not like the grants came from a Neo Nazi group or ISIS. The money was from two American businessmen. The future of our children should be our main concern, not political ideology.
We're slipping into an abyss of stupidity.

I'm sure the Koch's will make up what piddly sum they donate.
