Liberals on the other hand understand very little about profit and their actions tend to do more harm than good, depsite their contentions that they are benefitting people.

Really? My company also makes a fair profit, creates jobs and helps my community.

Do you actually know any liberals?

Sure, your buddy Cigar would be all over it.

Besides a person in their 30s would normally be able to move to another apartment without any trouble.

    Exactly.

Cigar may have posted it, you definitely wouldn't have.

    Thanks for proving my point.

    Dismissed.

Mr. Mensch, I'm actually surprised you would believe that an owner of real estate should not be free to do as he pleases with his own private property. Renters, if they do not have long-term leases, have the right to a 30-day notice. That is more than sufficient for this woman to relocate to another apartment.

Agreed, but having said that this CEO could have handled this matter a little more delicately - like offer to move this person on his dime to another similar apartment.

Maybe he did, I dunno - didn't read the article, and maybe she's just being difficult.

Either way, yeah - I kinda agree with your statement.

Did you watch the video of this woman? She did not appear to be in the best of health. Forcing her to move at this stage in her life is a liekly death sentence. But hey, who gives a $#@!? It's just one more old woman, right?

The people here who think this is OK are $#@!ing unbelievable.

The whole "throwing the poor little old lady" out on the street thing is over-rated, sorry.

What is your solution? Confiscation of private property? Are you aware that they have rent control in the People's Republic of San Francisco and that is the real driving force behind these conversions?

When the public sector makes it extremely costly for the private sector to build housing, when the public sector's many regulations drive up costs and create scarcity, this is what you end up with.
