    Dogs

People been talking about their dogs. Pics here!

    Here is mine:

    Attachment 8313

His name is Stormin Norman Dalken (the breeder). We call him Norman.

He was not a rescue dog but he is a rescue dog... Make sense?

    Yes,

But what breed is that? Looks like a cross between an Akita, Black lab, and a St benard. Huge from the picture, and good with kids too. I like him/her.

One of my best dogs was a Brittany Spaniel I shot singles over at 6 months. I've got a 20 year old chi now, she won't last much longer I figure, but she has had a good long life.

He is a Newfoundland Dog. He's about 165lbs and he is amazing with everyone and dogs. Newfoundlands are water rescue dogs...they also work fishing nets and such in the North Atlantic. There is a story about a Newfy saving 70 some odd men from a boat that had beached on some rocks during a storm.

I had a Springer Spaniel that I shot pheasant over for 6 years. He was a hard runner and eventually it caught up with him. He had a spinal embolism and kinda went crazy after that. We put him down when he was 8.

    A 20 year old dog! That's SICK!

Here's our dog - Patches. Mutt we got from the kennel, half lab, half snuffelupugus I think.

We thought he was a unique dog, has this really weird hair, bushy tail and legs, this odd hair growing from his feet. Saw a dog next to us on the beach yesterday - spitting image. I was stunned, had a conversation with the owner. They were almost identical visually (same white patch on the chest too) and from a personality standpoint.

    my junk is ugly

Newfoundland, I couldn't get it in my head what it was, but yes I know now. I almost got a bull mastiff last year but they really arent that big. Not the ones I looked at and they were expensive. Not worth the trouble and slober on everything. I spend most of my time on the road and need something a...............little bit smaller. I can see the "Patels" having a $#@! fit if I come in with something like that. LOL

We call them Newfies here...they're awesome dogs. My cousins have had them since always. They don't live super long, but they're so chilled out and loyal.

Here's my mutt Soda...he's probably a Chow Rottweiler mix. 98 lbs of insanity.

He is the best road dog I've ever had. We have a mini-van (yeah...I know..), I took one of the seats out and put his dog bed there. We drove from Colorado to Northern Minnesota to Massachusetts back to Colorado and the dog slept the ENTIRE way.

For the record, Patches has had lyme disease twice. Once maybe 3 years ago and just recently, the latest bout being kind of serious. He has arthritis in his hip and legs now, he's only around 7 years old. Had these fits a couple months ago, the vet first thought it was epilepsy.

In Northern PA we don't get termites but ticks are abundant. And that tick drip stuff, yeah - right. It got to the point where my then 7yr old knew how to feel for and remove ticks by himself. We keep him indoors mostly now and bathe him a lot. And shave him down, that $#@!ing hair of his is massive.
