Did Hitler want to rule the world?

Someone with more time on his hands than I did a great service by plotting out the actual build up to WWII and if you were taught in the public school system that Hitler wanted to rule the world, rather than retake German lands lost after WWI and crush the East, this is very enlightening. My favorite part of this is the blatant antagonism Poland shows towards Germany back when its power was relevant. Of course we all know Poland was just a victim of German aggression, right? Keep in mind, Hitler was a monster, but then so were Stalin, FDR, and Churchill. A century of propaganda has whitewashed the truth and buried the responsibility of the West for WWII.

Much like 9/11 being used to justify attacking Saddam Hussein, Hitler had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor yet the US government (despite FDR purposely pushing Japan into attacking) and the press fed the people the lie that the Nazis had to either have planned or carried it out because Japs were inferior. FDR himself invested in Germany's war machine when he, as a corporate $#@! of Wall Street and international financing, founded his United European Investors Corporation ltd. to which invested in explosives, ship yards, poison gas, etc. Plus who can forget that FDR's New Deal/NRA was linked to Hitler's New Order through the industrialists Owen D. Young's Young Plan and Gerard Swope's Swope Plan? Everything is economics, especially war.

We seem to forget that Poland, France and Great Britain were pushing for war with Hitler. We also forget that Stalin wanted the West to rip itself apart. Even the United States played a part. Hitler was scum, but his aims were not as radical geo-politically as we're brought up to believe.

If we hadn't saved England, which was itself an act of war--so what, the Nazis were subhuman predatory beasts-- the Atlantic Ocean would have become a Nazi lake. We wouldn't have had a chance. Hitler was paranoiac and believed in attacking everybody before they could attack him. That's why he attacked Russia, proving that to him, the whole White world had to be conquered in a preventative war. Stalin wanted Eastern Europe in order to oppress those people, but Hitler wanted it in order to exterminate those people. When Stalin seized those countries, he put native friends in charge. Hitler never would have done that any more than he would have put Jews in charge of the Holocaust.

Ok, first off, no one thinks Hitler was a good person. So we can end the Holocaust-guilt right there.

Second, the Holocaust has nothing to do with the topic of Hitler's global - or lack thereof - ambitions.

Third, as an aside, the Holocaust was called "the final solution" for a reason - it was the last in a series of attempts by Hitler to *remove* Jews from Germany. One plan was to persecute Jews to the point they would willingly leave, which is why the SS had an office in which they rubber stamped every Jewish visa they could. That failed because, shocker, the totally-not-antisemitic West didn't accept the visas. There was also the Madagascar Plan in which Hitler would move the Jews to Africa. Except the Allies took Africa. Within the context of the time, we essentially pushed Hitler toward the Holocaust which I'll remind everyone didn't start until the war was already in effect. No war no Holocaust.

Finally, Hitler would not have conquered Great Britain. He made multiple attempts to win their favor and friendship and respected their empire and wished for them to maintain their naval supremacy side by side with Germany's new air supremacy. Which is actually the point of this topic, that Hitler wanted many things but ruling the world wasn't one of them. His focus was reclaiming German lands stolen due to the Versailles Treaty after WWI, and crushing Bolshevik communism.
