The Rangers are looking good and the Yankees aren't - so long as they're on top of Boston or that Boston is dead last in the AL East, I'm alright with it, not gonna watch a whole lot of games but there is a balance so I'm not gonna fret to much about it.
I got to see a lot of the current rangers when they were just starting out. Spokane, Wa is the class A rookie league for the Texas Rangers and not far from me.
I liked Yakima, Spokane not so much, but it's within driving distance to Northern Idaho, as far as I'm concerned, that's the nicest country in the US.
When we were living in New York I'd go to a few of the Cape Cod Legue games - time them with other summer attractions usually made the difference between a mediocre vacation to a great mini vacation.
They still don't compare to Yankees games though.
I like the Rangers though, when Nolan Ryan (my baseball hero) left the Astros to head up the Rangers, I became a fan by default.

I have a baseball Autographed by Ryan. Real not stamped. My one buddy lived in Irving Texas and is a big time Texas Rangers Fans. We would drive about a mile and be in Dallas. About 15 mins from the Stadium. He managed to get to go to a few games. He knew quite a few of the Rangers. As his OL worked at Caligula's. Which was down the Road from Baby Dolls. All the Dallas Sports Figures were always out and about around there.
He now moved out by Mesquite. So I take it he don't get in as much to see the games anymore.

Still hard to fathom the starting rotation of the '69 Mets: In addition to Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman, Gary Gentry - with Tug McGraw closing. I don't think there has ever been a better pitching staff.
That's a little ways north from Coeur d'Alene, one of my uncles lives about ten miles from there - he's got a house overlooking the lake with a National Park for neighbors, I've driven through Sandpoint to go fishing at Okanagan Lake - I've got family all throughout Idaho though, most of them are near Sun Valley (barley and wheat farmers for Budweiser) - even an aunt that lives in Grangeville.
Mariano Rivera tears his ACL shagging BP balls. That is a tough break, hate to see it happen to him.
