Arizona Bans Funding For Planned ParentHood.....

PHOENIX (Reuters) - Arizona Governor Jan Brewer on Friday signed into law a bill banning abortion providers like Planned Parenthood from receiving money through the state, her office said in a statement.

Arizona joins six other states with similar laws, officials said. But three of those states -- Indiana, Kansas and North Carolina -- are facing legal challenges.

Arizona does not provide tax dollars for abortion, but backers said the law is needed to make sure that no indirect monies are funneled to organizations like Planned Parenthood that provide abortion and other health services. There were no estimates of how much money is involved.

While Planned Parenthood suffered a setback in Arizona, it won a temporary battle in court on Friday with Texas. A federal appeals court ruled that the organization could participate in a health program for low-income women in Texas, despite a new state rule there that bans affiliates of abortion providers.....snip~

Arizona become the 7th state to ban funding against Planned Parenthood. What I don't understand is how are there no estimates of how much money is involved. That Brewer likes to take it to the Obama Adminstration to.....doesnt she? Plus Arizona is already in Court with the Fed.

But now look at Texas. The Fed Appeals say they could particpate in a program for low income women. Think Perry will speak out now? Lend his voice to the issue.

Why should the taxpayers be paying for this, pray tell? Or for contraceptives or Viagra?

Oh, right, taking from people to pay for these things is good and not doing it is a "war" on contraception and abortion.

    I got it!

What I don't like is the Appeals court coming and saying that this group can participate in a health program for low income women. Shouldnt that Appeals Judge have to specifically state what that participation all entails?

Again, I still don't understand how Arizona doesnt have any estimates as to how much money is involved.

Can PPH tells us where all the money goes. How much is allocated from government funds state or fed and the breakdown to each area of medicine practiced? Also what is the cost to run preventive programs?

Any problems about disclosing Private Donors?
