You're so pleasant today as usual.

What rule says she can't have a colonoscopy? Who denied her?

I believe the denial for the procedure was through Medicare...but I'm not sure. I don't think Redrose has obamacare.

And you don't think Obamacare controls medicare? Really? OBAMACARE stole 960 Billion dollars from medicare. OBAMACARE is setting the rules for everybody, and the death panel is in full swing. Prostate exams are being denied for elderly men too.

Panel Urges Overhauling End of Life Care

I'm turning 70 in a month and I agree wholeheartedly with this. I'd go further. We should have the same right to a compassionate end that we give our pets.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/18/sc...anel-says.html

The country’s system for handling end-of-life care is largely broken and should be overhauled at almost every level, a national panel concluded in a report released on Wednesday. The 21-member nonpartisan committee, appointed by the Institute of Medicine, the independent research arm of the National Academy of Sciences, called for sweeping change.
“The bottom line is the health care system is poorly designed to meet the needs of patients near the end of life,” said David M. Walker, a Republican and a former United States comptroller general, who was a chairman of the panel. “The current system is geared towards doing more, more, more, and that system by definition is not necessarily consistent with what patients want, and is also more costly.”

This is a conversation that our nation needs to have. The largest generation (baby boomer) is moving into the time of life when health care needs increase with an increase in $$$. Remarks about letting granny die are not productive.

As a member of the generation of 'old', my husband & I have both made sure we have Living Wills and all legal requirements to ensure our desires are know. Our son knows our wishes. Neither of us want the expensive, keep-granny-alive at all cost treatment that some people think is necessary. We agree that quality of life is more important than quantity. With people screaming about death panels, and other BS, they forget that sometimes the best solution is for people to step away and allow God's Will or karma or whatever belief they have to take over.

With what? The paltry income from their Obama McJobs?

This isn't about death squads, it is about exactly what PolWatch stated so eloquently. There is a time to live and a time to die. What is missing here is that we should have the right to pull our own plugs without more G-damned government interference.
