Yeah, that was my next thought - pull the battery out.

Or google it. Google your phone make/model and "the cp button doesn't work".

One think I've learned is that whatever technical problems I might be experiencing there are a thousand other people who've had that same problem. Google that and you might find a tech message forum somewhere that's already addressed this issue.
