    Romney 2016

How many conservatives will vote 3rd party if Romney the lib is on the GOP ballot in 2016?

We need a None of the Above choice for national elections. And frankly we need to end the primary system. The establishment of both parties are in the same bed and are dirty and corrupt. Filthy even.

Is Mitt Romney, who ran for the Republican presidential nomination and lost in 2008, ran again and won the nomination but lost the general election in 2012, really thinking about running yet again for president in 2016? Many Republicans have simply assumed not. Romney has seemed to discourage such talk in media appearances, and there has been a general belief that after losing as the party's nominee, the 67 year-old Romney would return to private life for good.

That belief is wrong. Romney is talking with advisers, consulting with his family, keeping a close eye on the emerging '16 Republican field, and carefully weighing the pluses and minuses of another run. That doesn't mean he will decide to do it, but it does mean that Mitt 2016 is a real possibility.

I think it's increasingly likely that Romney will end up running, because sadly enough there seems to be a HUGE movement in the GOP to get him on the general election ballot in 2016. The sad part is, I think if he runs he'll basically take the nomination easier than last time, and then we'll basically have Romney v. Clinton. In such a scenario, I can see Romney winning easily, but either way we're $#@!ed.

I wish I could afford to move out of country. Independent or not, Scotland will be a hell of a lot better than America under Romney or Clinton.

Well, the GoP has the right to do what it wants and I have zero right to an opinion because I am not a member- they lost me in 2006 because they were spending like drunken liberals.

If the GOP runs a fiscal conservative they will have my vote. Otherwise, to hell with them.

I'm independent. They could easily earn my vote. So far, they don't seem interested So I'm like whatever, I'll just vote for whoever I want to and $#@! you guys.

I'm more concerned about the damage they do once elected.

It's not impossible, as Richard Nixon proved. And, like Nixon, Romney would be the nominee that no one really wants but that Republicans are willing to settle for. Nixon, however, benefited from a flailing Democratic part in 1968. I'm not sure Romney will be so lucky.

If mitt is the candidate, it will be 3rd party or (for the first time in 30 years) maybe I'll just skip voting completely. I know my vote will not make a difference because Alabama will always go for the GOP.

I hate to not vote, I think ya have no right to complain if you don't vote but if the choices continue to be dumb or dumber, who knows....

Your third-party vote will likely not make a difference in the outcome of the election but not voting will keep the concept of supporting third parties on the shelf. Until people start seeing others supporting third parties, they'll either not vote also or vote establishment.
